..GreyHOund BUS Shipping..!! I read somewhere where a member had great / reasonable ($) shipping on a Windshield with the passenger Bus service... Just pick up the part at the bus station..

. Maybe their volume down , or not many people take luggage anymore,
but was interesting comment .

That was me that sent the windshield from Green Bay to PA. Grayhound was only $50. The biggest problem was that it got lost in Chicago somewhere. I think it took several weeks for the buyer to finally get it but it did arrive. Make sure you keep the tracking number if you go that route.

Hey John,

Even better idea than shipping it. When I bring Todd's things to you, I can bring the fire truck. Where is it currently?

Through some contacts, I'm pretty sure I can get a real fire helmet to go along with the truck. If you want to customize it, too, I can bring it along when I drop off the truck. They're fiberglass and take paint pretty well.

I must say I really think its great the way the members of this site get along. Cool people with a common interest treating each other with the utmost of respect!!!

Nanticoke's not that far from me - probably about an hour. I am very sure Jim and I can get together soon.

The fire helmet shouldn't be a problem at all. I agree a helmet, the truck and wooden ladders would make a grand package. Any kid would be very lucky to find that under the tree on Christmas morning.

Wow, I'm off the site for a few hours and look how far this project is moving along!

Todd, where are you located? I'd be happy to meet you somewhere. AS stated I'm in Nanticoke, only 5 minutes from Rte 81, or Rte 11.

When do you think you'd be heading there, so I can get together with you?

Hi Jim,

I'm down here in Schuylkill County, just off 81. I was thinking about spending some time with the Mrs and doing a road trip up towards your way. We could meet where ever you like. You're only about an hour north of me so its really no problem coming up your way. Whatever suits you is good with me.

i can make it that the hose will work, and i have found some stuff on ebay, like the redlight made just for pedal car firetrucks, and the bell.john p.s. when you meet up with jim take pics.

No worries!!! Consider the pics on the way. I'm hoping the Mrs and I can hop up there tomorrow and get that for you. I am hoping/planning to come your way possibly Thursday of next week. Is that good for you?

On Sunday its off to CT to pick up the Corsair with my nephew. We're pretty excited about that trip. Its only 4 hours each way so it'll be an easy trip.

This shows the generosity and spirt of the members of FG! In keeping with that spirit, any proceeds forwarded to FG will be donated to heifer.org which combats world hunger.

Heifer International www.heifer.org is a non-profit that has been reviewed by Consumer Reports as one of the most efficient of organizations. The funds go to the purchase of livestock, chickens for eggs, goats for milk, cattle, etc. and education so that communities can get a foothold and gain headway out of hunger and poverty.

Check them out, they also make great Christmas gifts to family members!

John, to be honest, I dont really remember pedaling around in it! I remember standing on the back step and pushing my little brother on two wheels into walls and stuff. By todays safety standards, prolly need some wheelie bars under the step to keep the front end down when somebody steps there.
I think the dents came from being hit by the radio flyer wagon.

I gotta get over to my folks' and see if there are any vintage pix. of me or my brothers behind the wheel.

i just came in from working on it,i fiberglassed some wood to the inside of the sides,to keep the dents from popping back in,and to have something to mount the upholstery to.
i want to make this a special toy for a kid.john

You got your work cut out for ya John, looks like it's been rolled a couple times. Jim, were you guys regulars at the ER? LOL They do push much faster than they pedal. Corners are tricky with the front wheels of the ground. I was pushin' a friend in his dump truck, he pulled the dump lever and it took off my thumb nail.

hi doug, yeah i did,and you can buy them online, the problem is that there are many of these out there, and they are not bringing alot of money,so im going to make this one special with gold stripeing and lettering,i would like it to be more personal, like putting on it whatever the winner wants(a kids name as firechief,or a logo of a towns fire company, etc),its also going to be upholstered and have a real working firehose, bell and light.

bob thank you very much but frog beat you to it,i keep forgetting to get him the measurements,i will do that today.

lol yep cat,i think jim and his brother were evil kneivel, lol.john
