That's great John! Of course, I can't speak for Ron, but I'm sure Sue will be very happy with a mounted CD player for all those "remember when" tunes Ron so likes to play...

Ron can't get a clock? What's with that? Sue won't let him have one?

Keep up the great work there John, it's good to see you playing with boat stuff!

ron if you like i can upholster and paint it,it should look good,i hope, lol, lol, john.i was going to put the stainless on but it would be like looking into a mirror of the underside of your seat, and i would also have to use some trim around the edges so you wouldnt get cut,its all up to you but if i cover the sides with vinyl its less sanding lol.john

good ron im glad you like it.
58,thank you,i was a capenter most of my life and doing this kind of stuff on the side,i have found its alot harder to build something crooked then to build it straight, lol,i hope i can help you along the way,and by the way nice to meet you.

i just came in from working on the console,i just finished laying the first of 2 layers of cloth annd resin on the sides, after the second layer i will do it to the front and hopefully get it very smooth.

ron, this 1st layer of cloth is just to get it to look more streamlined,i hope ya like it buddy.,john the second layer will be much smoother

How did you cut and smooth the curved edges on the face panel?

The reason I was asking is I have a oscillating spindle sander that I got at Home Depot that I use on my radius cuts. It is a Ryobi, I caught it on sale for $100. I cut with my bandsaw, then finish with it. Fast and easy. Not trying to coach here, just passing info on a cool tool. It is a time saver.

ron you might be better off with a surface mount,it will be tough to cut out the hole for the other kind at this stage,it will still look good,i think you will like it.
neil yeah that would be fantastic to have ,i will put it on my christmas list,it would make this easier, john

The one I have is a surface mount Airguide. It needs chroming and repair, but is a vintage classic. Face and bezel are fine. I wound it last weekend, but no go.

Ron - I'll give the clock to Frank. Do you and John need a diameter for planning purposes? Face and bezel are fine, needs chrome and a repairman. I forget what this came off, may have been my Crosby Ranger. Good luck with it. I'm liking the console!!
