The first 5 are mine. The rest are my dad's lifetime collection. As you can see, there is nothing sectacular or extremely valuable in the collection, but I don't think there was ever a person alive who enjoyed boating as much as my father did.

got my first one kinda on accident this past january. then found another that had parts i wanted on it, so i brought it home. then found one more that had a nice trailer under it that i could use and good parts on top of it that i could sell to fund the first boat i got. how could i pass it up?!

i have 2 1962 Sea Kings and a 1965 Wacanda. So far. but if i keep buying 3 per quarter, i'll have an even dozen by the end of the year! now to find a bigger yard...

I have three boats in the yard none of which I own. One .... a guy bought but is wayyyyy over due in picking it up. Another will be going to CT in a couple weeks the other is the loaner boat I have for my oldest son a J-Class Hydro. I joined the SSOA... now I need to join the APBA... get him some safety equip and then a racing motor. He needs a 15A OMC with a restrictor plate and a quickie lower unit. I know a guy that has one but I need to come up with the 2K to get it.
Both my boys were quite taken with the Hydro races here on the river last October so the plan is to get them started.

Robert, I beg to differ. I feel that it is not the amount of boats one has upon his death, but the quality of each boat and the memories that they create with in ones-self.....

Well mine are not show quality but I will put the good times up at the top with my MFG. It is a used boat. I take care of it but I fish it hard and it takes a beating. It is really my dog Babe's boat. When the Winner is done I will show it how to have fun too. I bet it will be loved every much as any trailer queen out there.

No mention in the rules for this topic that we are all sworn to secrecy, but I assume secrecy is a given, RIGHT?

Well Boys at last offical count last fall we had 86 boats here and 137 motors. BUT since that time some have been stripped and are in a pile to go to the land fill and a few more have floated up the driveway. One is still in CT waiting to come home and that is a 15X Powercat. As for whats here well some fins, some race boats, some runabouts, some offshore stuff. Ruffly anything you can imagine from a 12' Jon boat to a 34' Chriscraft Stinger offshore boat. I really should do a new head count and make a list. Stuff comes and goes so its hard to put a hard number on it.

Regarding this support group concept I believe that as long as you have the room and the money to buy them there should be no limit to this hobby. I do know of a couple of guys that have some 300+ boats in minnesota. Andreas knows them too, One is Doc and I have seen him go to auctions and buy 27 at one crack. Now I would say this, If you buy a boat rather than milk or food for your family you have a problem. IF you can not walk through your house without triping over outboards you have a problem. If you look for a pair of socks and pull them out of a glove box in a boat you have a problem.

CURE; ONE, feed the family well and offer ice cream this will enable you to keep them happy so you can buy more boats. Buy the wife a Puppy that stays a Puppy like a Beagle. (Worked for me after my 50th boat) TWO, If outboards are in your house find spaces that are out of walkways and try to make it look like you ment to put it there, like a decoration. THREE, Never store socks in the glove box, I know it sounds cool, but put things like Diamond earrings, rings and other bright shiney things in there to attract your mate to the boats she will have more intrest in you having more boats that way. If you have no space in your dresser for socks do to a huge collection of toy outboards in your sock drawer, You may have a Problem!

UGH! Too Many.

I bought my first boat when my wife was my girlfriend, because I knew, once married, I'd never have a boat. So I got the toy before I was married, when she couldn't say no..... The only flaw in my plan ? MAKE SURE THE TOY WORKS WHEN YOU BUY IT !!! I still have the boat, but it's still broken. The honey-do's and the child, now college kid, are keeping me from dumping cash into it. I just keep saying to myself.... Some day ????
