TOPIC: Rub Rails

I am looking for the aluminum half round rails that are attached to the wooden rub-rails on a wooden boat.
They look to be about 1/2 wide.

have you tried McMaster-Carr, Grainger, Carr-lane ?

From what I can see in your photo, those rub rails can be salvaged. I do this all the time. "Too far gone" pieces can be brought back using this method: Remove the paint by sanding with a palm sander using 320 grit. Keep sanding until you have removed all the annodizing. Then sand with wet or dry sandpaper (wet) with successive grits from about 600 to 1500. (These discs are available on Ebay: Items 261675794202; 263638342866; 254725398876) Finish on a polishing wheel using aluminum polishing compound. The result is a high lustre shine. Give the completed pieces a good coat of wax.
