Here are photos I took of MB172, a 1937 senior officers gig of the Australian navy, permanently docked at the Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour, Sydney. This boat has what I call "great lines." She's carvel planked and all the brightwork is teak. I was fortunate to board her recently at the invitation of the volunteer caretaker/restorer who gave me a mini-tour. She's powered by a small diesel (not original) which is mounted forward. If I had plans, I'd be tempted to build one from scratch. Fortunately for me, she's not for sale. If she were, after the purchase price, the shipping from Australia and my divorce, I'd be sitting on the curb selling pencils.

Here's another drop-dead gorgeous boat which was anchored in Opunohu Bay, Moorea, French Polynesia. It's the largest sailing yacht in the world, 305', 200' masts, crew of 22, owned by Diane Von Furstenberg and her Husband. (I looked it up on Google when we got home!) Moorea is the most beautiful place we've ever been...been there five time now and never tire of it.

There are lots of other photos of her here:
