TOPIC: Holsclaw for '64 Custom Craft Sun Ray

I picked up this Holsclaw trailer for the "64 Custom Craft Sun Ray. The bunks have numerous possibilities for adjustment and should be able to fully support the wide stern of the Sun Ray. It looks to be a model D-1475 based on the features and 18' length. Like the Gator trailers I have done in the past, this one fully breaks down into the individual components. I have a local young man that has set up a media blast booth and a powder coat oven that looks like a walk in freezer- we'll see how he does with it!

Matching the colors with the help of Robt Moreau from the Facebook Holsclaw trailer page.
Ace Brite Blue and Rustoleum 2X Navajo White. I matched these with the powder coat guy to his selection.
Reassembly started and measurements taken to place bunk rollers as shown.

A little more progress on the trailer:
roller supports and rails mounted
new bearings installed
new Carlisle 5.7 x 8 Load D tires mounted
some of the Stoltz non-marking rollers arrived and installed, still waiting on the rear centering guide roller and tips
next is to get a list of hardware together to put the trailer tongue assembly together and mount to the main frame

Finally finished up the fenders on the Holsclaw.
inside got some bondo with "kitty hair" as there were some thin and perforated areas once the rust was removed. then some black under coating.
top surface got a few rounds of bondo and wet sanding.
then Ace Rust Stop was custom mixed to the ivory / Navajo white color. I'm using the same paint as the accent on the '64 custom craft sun ray.
finished with some 2k glamour coat and will then get a wet sand with 2000 and buffing compound as needed.

Fenders mounted and more supplies arrived to get the trailer closer to completion. The bunk rollers are still manufactured by Dutton-Lainson and you can order direct which is cheaper than E trailer or other dealers. I used the stoltz non marking rollers for the keel and heavy contact areas. New LED retro looking tail lights from super bright leds. just about complete!
