TOPIC: Gator Trailer wheels

Hello All,
I just recently purchased a 1960 Saber Craft Impella 17 with a sliding hardtop on top of a 63 or so white gator trailer. Included are a 15 inch 5lug wheel assembly. Can anyone tell me if the 15 inch is original or would it have been something smaller?

Not sure if you checked out the library. The literature in their shows 12 inch as the largest... however this doesn’t show every year. Hopefully there are some Gators experts that will jump on here and tell you the rest of the story if 15 inch were available. I am a fan of big tires on my heavy boat when I feel I am carrying a little more load or traveling long distances and highway speed travel.

It probably came with 6.00x9s. You can get new ones from
Northern.
I replaced the 4.80x12s that the PO put on my trailer. |

I have 5 lug wheels on this trailer, so I don’t believe that small of a wheel would fit.

These are the original wheels & tires from my original 1960 Gator trailer. The wheels are small but the tires are tall.
