TOPIC: Old Holsclaw - correct colors?

Old Holsclaw - correct colors? 14 years 4 months ago #10366

This is my next project. Got all the parts in the garage, but will be tearing the whole thing down to refinish it, then sell it. Don't need it, just want to get it off my property!

Where can a guy get correct colors for a Holsclaw? I think this one was blue and light beige? Or do folks mix their own? Any ideas welcome!

Only a bit of body work to do on that one fender in the bottom pic. Shouldn't be too awful bad.

Thanks,

Frank

Morning Frank. Rustoleum #7724 Sail Blue was as close as I could find, don't know about the white/off-white/beige. I know where there's a set of Holsclaw hubcaps (very rusty) you could probably have for the cost of shipping if you need 'em.

Thanks Mark! I'll see who has that color around. I could get somebody to color match it, but given its age, I'm not sure that would even be correct. I just want it close. I haven't looked at the hub caps yet, or seen if I even have them. I'll check later today and let ya know.

I'll replace all I can - bearings, seals, tires, shocks, clean the rest up and give it a good paint job, then see what I can get for it. Nothing like a Holsclaw trailer - dual coils each side, plus the shocks, nice smooth cushiony ride, great heavy duty trailer for a vintage boat.

Not sure when this is all gonna happen, but it has moved out of the weeds into a place I can work on it when I'm not boating. :)

I just did mine, and the colors were still rather prominent.
I matched rustoleum royal blue and gloss almond. It turned out pretty well.
