My 1988 Formula 223 SS had that butt-ugly swim platform thing hanging off the back and it just had to go. As it turns out, it weighed about 500 lbs! That's a lot of weight to lose at one shot. Getting rid of it has got to be worth two gallons an hour of fuel savings. Anyway, here's the result:

I bought the 1988 Formula with a bad engine, a pitted outdrive and no trailer for $2,500 because I already owned a butt-ugly 1988 red Stingray SRV22 with a great-running big block Chevy and a Bravo One outdrive. We scrapped-out the Stingray and used whatever we needed to re-do the Formula, including the red trailer. The Formula built-in swim platform was removed and the transom fitted with thru-hull exhausts and the Stingray swim platforms. Considering what I had into both boats, I'd say it was worth the effort.
