TOPIC: Help identifying 1973 Tri Hull IO

Help identifying 1973 Tri Hull IO 8 years 2 months ago #127877

Hello All,

My coworker has a boat that his father left him. It's an open bow 1973 Tri Hull runabout with Mercruiser IO. His father was in the process of re-flooring the wooden floor. There are no markings left anywhere on it.

Any ideas on the Manufacturer or make/model? I've attached a picture.

Thanks,
Garry

You might want to check your picture size and try again. I know it's not showing up on my end.

Sounds like I might have a problem with my computer then.
Thanks Robby.

Here's the outdrive but probably not much help in identifying the boat.

Hard to say from these pics. In the late 60's and early 70's tri-hulls (also called cathedral hulls) were extremely popular and everybody and his brother were making them. If it is really a 73 it may have a hull identification number HIN on the upper right corner of the transom, just below the rub rail. If it does the first three letters are the manufacturers ID code. You can look up the manufacturer at http://www.uscgboating.org/content/manufacturers-identification.php

Also if you look near the steering there may be a small label with capacity info on it. If so it will have then name of the manufacturer.

If you can, get the cover off of it and the stuff out of it, so the whole boat can be seen. Take a front, both sides, rear view, and several of the interior and post them here. Size them to 7 x 5 at 150 dpi for best display so they can be blown up a little.
