TOPIC: New to the site

New to the site 14 years 5 months ago #11228

I found this site through the Glastron forum. I bought a boat that the title says its a Glastron but they told me it is a Las Vegas Frontier. So here I am now and here is my boat. It had a 120 hp mercruise. I am now in the middle of putting a 165hp mercruiser inline 6 into it.

Progress has been slow. I have the material to make the motor mount I want but I am waiting on purchasing a gimble bearing because I can not find a place locally that rents the tools for it.

It has been a long time but I have made progress. I ran into some alignment issues and lower unit issues but got them straightened out. I have the 165hp I6 Merc in there and tuned up. New cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I also went through the carb. It seems like it is going to be a strong engine! Im not sure what I will do about the tach. It was a I4 and now it looks like it reads fast. It sounds like its idling about 700 but says 1300 or so. There is little to do now but clean it up and throw seats in her. Also, the shroud is a little short so I need to do something with that.

Did all the work myself. The big one is titled as a glastron but has a las Vegas frontier name plate.

Re: Las Vegas - Frontier 7 years 11 months ago #129850

Hi slicknick,
I also rescued a Las Vegas Frontier. Mine has a 455 Olds engine and a Berkley jet drive. This is how it looked when I towed her home!
Since then the seats, carpet, floor has been taken out and I'm working on getting the engine running.(blown head gasket!)
