WOW...that is sweet!! Is the raw water pump driven off the cam shaft??

The air cleaner is massive......what is the induction system? Tripple carb?

Will it use any of the trick exhaust systems you mentioned previously?

Yes, the raw water pump is camshaft driven. An AQ170 has three carburetors which I had to rebuild. The air cleaner/flame arrestor covers all three. The entire engine is bone stock except for the color. Volvo Penta engines are red. My client wanted blue...so blue!

The triple carb setup looks the performance part. The rail that holds it all together looks robust.

What did you use to finish the carburetors, pulleys, air cleaners/spark arrestor, valve cover? Perhaps cerakote?

The devil is in the details. Ugly engines are an abomination!

The carburetors were disassembled completely and bead-blasted before installing rebuild kits. Each part was then fine wire-wheeled with a Dremel tool. The intake log was painted with Eastwood high temperature silver. The other silver parts, including the oil pan, were bead-blasted, primed and painted with dull aluminum. The Nicson exhaust logs were just bead-blasted and wire-wheeled. The block was painted Chris Craft post-war blue.

Here's another engine I finished recently: GM 350, same everything.

Surpised that is paint. Looks very nice!
