TOPIC: Old Evinrude 80hp

Any idea what year this old Evinrude is? Thinking of picking up the package for the good motor and trailer.

LOOKS like a GREAT boat for "live-lining" out on the salt (or just general fishing) . = Get the rig, use the OB/trailer & then sell the hull to a dedicated fisherman, who has an OB motor.
(That hull could be CHEAPLY "tricked out" for fishing, with a couple of cheap boat seats.)

The motor is a 1966 model, the nice thing about the Speedifour model is that it has a manual shift LU not the electric shifter from the Starflite. 66 was the first year for 80hp.

So a fairly decent motor than? It is a bit new for my 59 glass craft. I currently have a Merc 78A on it and will get to see it for the first time in about a week. I'm trying to line up my options in case of surprises. I want to stay period but as dependable as possible.

Your thinking the same thing I am. Unfortunately up in Spokane there seem to be hulls laying around everywhere for next to nothing.
