That boat has been for sale for quit a long time. If I remember correctly he was asking $1800 last year. I personally think it would be worth buying at around $500 with no motor.

S, That is a pretty interesting web site. THANKS for posting.
I was chasing that red model a few years ago.. If someone
has the $1200 it could be a fun piece to have. Trls pics seem
a tad small.. Glastrons are getting more collectible. Some of
his 14 ft models were also asking $1800.
Interesting to see my exact Gold upper / Yellow lower CVX
hull there For Sale .. These late 70's models would have more MPH
than that large bow seat.

Winter's comin quick to that part of the country ask the seller
how low he would consider. ??

yeah I was thinking 750ish myself, was contemplating how well it would accept a supercharged waverunner engine mounted to a surface drive, but I don't think there is enough room in the back for it, might work with a standoff box, but I dunno. I think an old finned late 50s jetstar converted into a single cockpit would work better and look pretty cool, like an mini baracuda =).

S, Here is last Fall Knoxville , TENN , outboard show & a father
son team just put a juiced lay down engine & Outdrive in a
FEATHER Craft alumimun . Pic 5 & 6 in this album
www.glassicsonline.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=14033209
. I dont think cutting into those rear Tonneau cover
hatches would be a think for me.. A nice tow vehicle of 60;s
Ford Thunderbird with same Tonneau style would work.
A 85 hp should work on the Glastron.. 65hp would be too small.
& rear heavy HP 120+ would only add weight.
Let us know what you find out / decide.

HOLY SCHNIEKIES!!! I bet that thing gets a good 50 mph or better, although I would have figured out a way to put a standoff box on her and moved the engine aft as far as I could. that thing will be neat once they get it done!

If you want a boat to put a waverunner motor in this might be right up your alley. I Know this boat has been for sale for at least 3-4years if not longer. Its been sitting in front of a storage building and you might be able to get it for $500 or less. milwaukee.craigslist.org/boa/3989781056.html

Thanks, Jetlife, Looks like a fun project I think these boats are rated for 110 hp outboard, with a bit of beefing up I think it would hold up to a 150 hp tower of power, she'd scream pretty good I think. my only worries on putting a wave runner motor in these bigger boats would be the jet drive, as they probably wouldn't hold up to the added weight. maybe a surface drive is the answer, I still have more research to do on putting one of those motors in a heavier boat/ performance to cost and labor. probably more feasible to put another outboard on these glasstrons. =)

They'll take a 150 just fine if they're in sound shape.
