The US Coast Guard Had a lot of these back in the 70's They used them for their Boating Safety Detachment and towed them around to lakes and rivers to do boating safety boardings and law enforcement. They were good in rough water and fast ( fast for the seventies, most Bayliners could outrun them now)and good in shallow water because of the tunnel drive.

But their one big failing was they could not back down in a straight line. They were all most uncontrollable in reverse. The two outside boats are Penn Yann 21's
