I found this listing a few weeks ago and did some research on the boat with a thought towards rescuing it.

I found this to be one of several boats Designed by Ray Hunt and built by Marscott Plastics in New Bedford MA in the 1957-62 era. Dick Bertram saw one of the 23's that was serving as a tender to the 12 meter Vim for the America's Cup trials. Dick was so impressed with the performance that he commissioned Hunt to design the 31 foot Moppie which won the Miami Nassau Race in 62. One of the 23 foot hulls from the mold was driven by Jim Wynne to second overall, first in class in the same race.

I also believe that these were the first boats ever fitted with Volvo Inboard-Outboards which debuted at the New York Boat show in 1958.
