TOPIC: World's Fastest Pontoon Boat.

I'm hoping one of you guys can find a link to this. It's a 900 plus horsepower pontoon boat with three Mercury 6's on it ! There's a video from the Lake of the Ozarks shootout. This thing is just a little out there. The owners name is Brad Rowland and it's a South Bay 925CR pontoon boat. I saw it on "over-powerd".

That's the trend on the Rock River where we are in Northern Illinois. Tritoons with big 300 HP Evenrudes, I hear they go for $70 or 80k. They go about as fast as the cig boats, a few have "raced" going by. Not too much fun drinking your beer or margarita on that ride! I'd like the fuel dollars they spend on a weekend though.

If you can dream it up some fool has done it. These things are idiotic. Pontoons were never designed to go fast or have hundreds of horsepower. Eventually this will end in disaster and some politician who is dumber than they are will try to outlaw them.

I will vote for ANY politician who promises to outlaw pontoon boats! If he'll get rid of jet skis, I'll be his campaign manager!

Oh I have nothing against pontoon boats as long as they are used as intended, and that goes for most boats. The problem is not the boats but the owners/operators. That is exactly the problem with Personal watercraft. If people follow the rules (most states have rules specific to PWCs. They aren't a problem. It's the idiots operating them that need to be banned. I have run a few PWCs in my time but I don't jump other boats' wakes and stay away from docks and other shore structures. They can be a lot of fun without being a pain in the a**.

Pontoon boats are great fishing platforms and for most people are actually more suited to how they boat than some hot rod runabout. But putting high horsepower engines on them is unsafe and a waste of gas.

I don't want one myself. Just the money it took to build it. As for Jet Ski's we use them for bumper pool up here. Nobody wants them around. Which is too bad because they can be fun but they always seem to be operated by idiots.
