Not far off of I-94 near Eau Claire, Wi. Looks like original rig with white 80hp I-6 Merc, finned aluminum boat, and tandem axle trailer. Sure hope someone was looking for something like this and can save it!

I like it and love the old tin, what are those holes in the hull? Is that for an anchor? bit of concern on the engine not running in 20 years...

Those holes appear to be small port windows (glass with anchor accents?). I am not a mechanic, so I would be concerned about the motor not running in 20 years. Only the mechanics people can tell us what to expect to pay to get it running right...maybe that means a total teardown and re-build...that is totally outside of my wheel house. At least maybe the money NOT spent on a rotten hull could be spent towards this motor or one like where this becomes the back-up motor?? Just say this as a large enough rig to handle many different tasks...fishing, cruising, skiing with kids, showing at the local lake or boat show.

That model of TexasMaid had porthole windows in the closed bow.

If not 12hrs away, and another boat project I do t really need or have time for, I'd be willing to mkae him an offer if the trailer could be made towable w grease, bearings and some rims/tires.

3 1/2 hrs from me. Not for me. Probably 15 dead mice in the motor.

Looks like the '61 800 FGS I have. Still have to restore mine. Good price for that whole package, would be a good project. Too far for me and I have a non stop project already! lol

1.5 hours from me...if it had good tires and good bearings (with grease), I could tow it to as far as Rockford, Il for someone if they bought it and could meet for a pick-up. Not for me as I have my project (so I am "just saying no" for myself).

To All,

Does anyone know for sure WHICH Texas Maid that that hull is??
(It's NOT a '59 Fiesta, as it has only one porthole forward.)

I'm guessing that the hull alone is worth about 500.oo plus whatever the trailer & Mercury OB are worth.

Fwiw, I called my buddy John who Summers in WI & IF it's still for sale he'll likely snag it to restore about 15APR16.

yours, satx

Best of luck to him. I made a call on a Craig's list add and just said I was interested, but it was 2 months too soon for me...just left him my number and asked that he call if he had no takers (since it was this time of year in Wi with a bit of snow left). He called me back, we made the deal after that 2 months and he even kept it stored an extra month until the salt washed off the road. Great boat guy! Maybe your guy will have this luck.

I just find this boat to be very interesting and also looks very functional for multiple uses!
p.s. we are getting a foot of snow in the next 24 hours, but that SHOULD be gone by April (wasn't Spring just the other day?...oh yeah, we sometime get a white spring. I think Gene Gene and 63 Sabre are in the "path" too.

Cal - are you fishing, or restoring? fish quick before the big now, then hunker in for a couple of days in the shop and forget that 16" of snow...it might melt in a week (or a month lol :) )

Could be a DR motor, too. No picture of the left side of the motor. One cable or two?

Mark, not fishing, just went by the dam in DePere, WI, boats were so thick you could walk across the Fox river without getting your feet wet.
As of now it looks like you're getting slammed with wet snow. I'm looking forward to it. gives me an excuse to stop the honey do projects and spend some time in the basement/shop filling in deep scratches and sanding. Picked up all the paint supplies yesterday. two different types of thinners and reducers and activators for the primer and paints. Had the "mixologist" take his sharpie and mark the different reducers and activators as which one is for what product. I'd get them mixed up wrong for sure.

Just sealed the deal on this sweet finned old girl. This will be next Winter's project and a keeper for me.

Andreas - how far are you going?...if you could get it to Wausau, I can get it all the way down to Bloomington, Il...or I could pick it up on a weekend and take it down from Wausau another weekend.
