TOPIC: Looking for Restorable Glasspar G3

Looking for a restorable Glasspar G3 in Buffalo NY Erie Pa area . For the right hull and price could travel further , will be next years winter project so I have some time.

Fwiw, the boats/OB/trailers that you NEED are always FAR away.
(I think that it's against the law for them to be 25 miles away.)

For example, right now, I know of an original/seldom used, stored indoors since new, 18 foot SIMMONS SEA SKIFF in white CEDAR (rather than marine plywood and NOT rotten anywhere!!!!) that's near the Canadian border in northern ME.
(It has the original Johnson BigTwin, too.)

Fwiw, there were LESS THAN TEN Simmons skiffs that were "other than 3/8" lapstrake plywood".
(two were built of 1/4 inch ply & designed for a 10HP Johnson. = I've tried for over 15 years to buy one of the 2 "little boats" WITHOUT success.- It's stored under a house in Georgetown in the District of Columbia.)

thanks for keeping an eye out. Atlanta is alittle further than I want to go . San Jose is way to far but I love that hull it has the same paint job as the one I had 30 years ago . If location was reversed I just might have taken a long weekend trip.

Hey Paul yes that's the free one from the glassifieds , just trying to arrange pickup , cannot due it this weekend as my son is getting married . But I do also like the one in Woodstock .

A guy like me with a boating problem would get the other one also. I did that with a couple Switzers once. Definitely looks like a good deal.

Thanks for the help locating my new G3 . Went for an 8 hour drive with the wife and picked it up yesterday. Deck and floor where removed
so had to strap it to the trailer. Got up this morning to 32degF but went out and screwed the deck and hull back together , good thing ,they where loosing shape and could have been hard next spring when I can get to work on it . loved seeing floor stringers were all glass no rotten wood . Should be an easy one to fix , even the wife said we should go pick up the one in Woodstock , but I think 3 in the yard and one at the cottage is good for now.
