Who makes a good one? I know about Snap-on but I'm not looking to mortgage my future for a ratchet. I've had a recent bad experience with Husky. What else is out there that I can at the very least Rely on? Thanks in advance.

Craftsman all the way Shipster, lifetime "no questions asked" warranty just like Snap-On. Now available almost anywhere, not just at Sears!

I have 3 toolboxes full of snapon tools, I rely on them for my living, and can not afford to have tools that do not work. now at home I have a dukes mixture that I picked up on sale and at yard sales, some do not even have names on them. but if I was to buy new tools I would also go with craftsman, well for at home anyways. greg

Craftsman, lifetime warranty, just bring it back and they will give you a new one, no questions asked. Gear Wrench is also good, made by Craftsman and has the same warranty at Sears.

I have a lot of Craftsmen, but I will tell you that when Lowes started up and started carrying the hand tools, they has Snap On make them for them Kobalt tools. That was in 1999 when I was researching the company to invest in them for , for a master's class I was taking. I believe they are still made by them.

NAPA also has excellent hand sets. Same return/replace policy.

I'll be honest, I loved my Craftsman ratchets years ago and then they got sloppy. When I want a new ratchet now I go to Ebay and buy an old style Williams Super Ratchet. Snap on bought them out so if it ever breaks, and it won't you can get it replaced. Here is one with a few hours left.
These are the only ones I'll buy anymore. They are tight and don't have a sloopy feel to them and you don't have to crank it a quarter turn to get a click out of it in tight areas.

Many thanks guys. I am now the proud owner of a brand new 3/8" 6 point Craftsman socket set. Bob, I may also check out the Kobalt as a duplicate. Robert, I've never heard of JH Williams but now I know for the future. Again, thanks.
