Well as you may have noticed I haven't been working on the Century for a while. I've been busy with honey do projects. This one had to be done so I could get the Clipper in and out to play with. I had originally cut sections of the fence out and would remove them when I needed to get the boat in and out. Well a two section piece of fence was getting a little heavy to remove on a regular basis so it was time to make gate.

The before, well close I had welded a set of hinges on before I remembered to take a before pic.

The gate is two sections for each side and was going to be a little heavy so I got 900lb rated barrel hinges and made some shock absorbing wheels to give the ends some support.
They started out as gate drop bolts like these.

And ended up like this.

And Wa La, gates complete and functional.

I still need to weld the short extensions on the rungs but that can wait until it gets colder out. It's function as it is and the dog can't get out so......

Now it's time to get back to the Century, I hope. Still have to restain the deck and paint the boat shed. It never ends!!!!!!!!!
