Stopped by a local river bend this afternoon to take some pictures of the Sturgeon spawning. These suckers are huge antique dinosaurs.

Very cool Cal, thank you for sharing! I've seen Largemouth Bass spawning up in the shallows, but I don't think they school up like that when doing so.

I was fishing out of a jon boat about sunset some years ago, had a school of Alligator Gar swim up right behind me. Kinda freaked me out, they were so close - very scary looking creatures! Just sat there and watched until they moved on...... :ohmy:

Schooling bass I can handle, especially with a night crawler on a hook. Garfish are spooky but I hear the hide makes a good belt to hold your pants up :laugh:
