TOPIC: HELP NEEDED! Homestrand 209 Alcohol Stove repair

HELP NEEDED! Homestrand 209 Alcohol Stove repair 10 years 7 months ago #93299

Hello Fellow Glassics,

I have a 1976 Homestrand 209 that is in amazing condition. I have ordered the replacement parts for a stove of this age. Today, I spent 4 hours reconditioning the stove and replacing all of the replaceable parts. I have not put the alcohol in it at this time because I noticed that as I pumped it up a very slight stream of air was coming out. Great? I thought, until I tried to turn it off. No Go. I am unable to shut it off completely.

I really don't want to blow myself up so thought I would ask for your thoughts and advice. Does anyone know about these stoves? Can you point me in the direction of a repair location?

I appreciate your assistance in advance.

Post a picture of what you have...I have an alcohol stove form a '76 reinell that I am not going to use. As I recall it was in pretty decent shape...I just have to dig it out. If same one I'll look and see what condition it is in.
