Have you tried heat? Maybe a little torch heat to get the old grease flowing. But don't catch anything on fire.

A few times I have taken the fitting out and ran a piece of wire around a bit to make sure no hardened grease or debris is in there. Also try to move the ball seat with a pin or nail to make sure it is not stuck. Also if it is a hinge point some water could be froze around it making it so there is no relief point for the grease.
Just a thought

I have run construction equipment all of my life and run into this quite often.I sometimes move fittings from place to place if I don't have a new replacement until I can get one but the cure almost always is plain oil applied to the shaft or whatever the fitting is supposed to lubricate.I carry a little squirt can in my truck just for that purpose. Two or thee days and it will take grease again.Ron G

If you are trying to use a cartridge hand pump style grease gun you might want to run it down to your local lube shop. They will likely have a pressurized grease gun. Even still a joint that has been neglected may need a little heat to help the process. I have worked on a lot of early iron and that is what has worked for me.
