TOPIC: Moving!!!!--Tired As Heck!!

Moving!!!!--Tired As Heck!! 12 years 11 months ago #49079

We have been moving for two weeks!! Got in our new place Sat.
finally. Still have some items at the old place to gather up but shouldn't take much longer.

I am very tired, but we have downsized into a very nice smaller home in a great neighborhood, 3 miles down the road from the old place.

I now have a GARAGE to put the G-3 in also!!!!!!!!!!!This pic is entitled "Elizabeth's Hair Dryer"!!

I've often commented that I'd rather take a beating than move, you feel about the same when it's over! (I know sometimes it's inevitable, but like you it just wears me OUT.) Seriously, glad to hear you're on the downhill side now Jim, and congrats on gaining the garage/boat house. One of the G-tron gang out west built a new 6 or 8 (?) boat storage building with a small apartment in one corner of it, perfect! (Of course the "war dept." disagrees strongly.)

I'm hoping my next move will never happen.

Mark, I love the apartment idea. It begs the question of whether you have boats in your living room or a Laz-E-Boy in your shop. Now that's High livin'.

Gail figured out the other day that we've moved like 27 times or something like that. I like Mark's comment about how "I'd rather take a beating then move again." I'm hoping we move one more time into a small retirement home in a little village where I can end my days peacefully. I certainly never want to be in any sort of place where other people take care of you in your old age. Hopefully those end-days are a long ways away, but ya never know.

Right now I'm trying to get a roof over my pole barn expansion for a place to park the Power Cat. Got 2 stumps I need to dig out under that soon-to-be roof, plus I need to pull the merc. Once I get the boat squared away, I want to suspend it so I can easily pull the trailer and do some work on it. I'm in great hopes I can get brakes on it before next season, plus it needs to be repainted.

Moving can be hassle that's for sure. My wife and I have done it at least a dozen times in 25 years. It is a great oppurtunity to sort and pitch accumulated junk though!
It will be nice to have a garage for "Elizabeth's Hair Dryer". ;)
