That's right the legislator snuck this thru. It is against the law now to buy or sell used merchandice with cash in LA. www.klfy.com/story/15717759/second-hand-dealer-law
If they get away with this it will spread to other states. Maybe I should have posted in the NBR but since the FG hobby and many others revolve around used stuff I thought I'ld pass this on here. If it gets moved no prob.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Well we know a lot of business don't report all there cash sales. I suspect cash sales will still continue anyways..

Am I reading this right?
Are there pawn shops in La.?
That would be no cash transactions at a pawn shop?
What lawmaker in their right mind would agree to that?

I know LA kind of makes up rules, but it does say, legal tender for all debts public and private, right on the money. I think the US supreme court might need to get involved here.

The transaction you refer to might be argued to be a rental not a sale. Now "Pretty Woman" you could argue that he took possestion.

The intent of the law was to stop the stealing of scrap metal. I don't see it? I see a bunch of small business and flea markets closing. Also it gives a financial institute a cut of the transaction, making our dollars worth less.
