TOPIC: Living the Dream

Living the Dream 3 years 9 months ago #144045

Hi everyone, I've always wanted a runabout and the universe sent one my way! Not really sure what I've got here, early 1960's maybe, a Carefree Deluxe?? It's tiny about 12', and the motor is not original (although rather fab in its own way and in great shape). I bought it for the lake in Maine, but I've been giving her some trial runs down here in Florida. This is my first boat, so I'm pretty green and have no idea what I'm doing. Would it be crazy to add a grab rail, a horn, and a flag? I'm sentimental and nostalgic, so I'm imaging the boats I remember from my childhood in the 70's...:-). Also, the gel coat is in pretty good shape, but there's a few scratches, is there something I can use to touch it up? Are there things I definitely shouldn't do as I refurbish her? Thanks for any input/support - super appreciate it!

All I can say is: Sweet Sweet and Sweet. Beautiful color
You mention Florida so I can imagine cruising the Intercoastal waterway. Enjoy your gift.
