My 1964 Westfield is equipped with 85 hp Merc. The boat flies. Looking at pictures of boat, I am concerned that too much of the front of the boat is out of the water. What would you recommend for ballast and approximately how much weight. One friend suggested placing sandbags in bow. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

That boat was rated for 70HP, so yeah, it flies. Sandbags would work, but try putting the trim pin in a spot to trim the motor so it's tucked in a bit closer to the transom. That alone would help a lot.
