TOPIC: Sea Ray 700 with a 1958 Mercury 75A

Sea Ray 700 with a 1958 Mercury 75A 10 years 2 months ago #98662

this boat and engine popped up right around the corner from me. Thoughts on what the engine is worth assuming turns over and has good compression? I assume it will be a rebuild

Hell, I would grab it. A challenge to restore but get it right and you have a beast to be proud of. Value of the engine? If it is complete and not stuck I would say $300 or so, budgeting $1000 to 1500 for a restoration if you do the work yourself.

add to that that trailer comes with it and looks decent, I am considering it. Thing is I would have many a project ahead of it.

I would probably try and resell the boat and engine.....

naturally I went to check on the auction and it was sold. Probably best for me, but I hope the engine doesn't get chucked to the scrap pile
