TOPIC: Mercury 6 hp What year?

Hello everyone,

I Saw this merc coming by which is really special here in Holland.
There are not that many old mercury's over here. Anyway the person who sells the motor says its a 1980 model but I don't think so. Maybe you can tell me if he is right or what year it actually is. I think i will buy it I just really like that old mercury look.

It runs but not very well but that can always be fixed. The highest bid is 60 euro which is around 82 dollars. What is the engine worth?

serial # will tell for sure. but that style was made 1961-1963.

That is an early one, either a 1961 or a '62 depending on the serial number. Someone painted it black, but the correct color is off white and I can tell you that these are a very good little engine. Parts are a little tough to find these days but not impossible, and they are not difficult to work on and restore. I would pay a maximum of $150 Canadian for a running one, but considering the fact they are rare where you are a little more may be fair, but not too much more. Buy it if you can, it is a great engine to restore and have fun with afterwards!!

Picked up a pair of white ones last year.-Priced at $25 each.

I never got an answer and its not on the internet anymore. too bad I didn't get it. I hope I will find one more. I would like to ship one over here but that is way too expensive.
