Is a 1974 115 HP Mercury outboard control box compatible with a 1982?

T.H. Marine manufacturers power trim control bottons mounted on the throttle handle of a Mercury control box, but they say it is for 1982 years and later. T.H. Marine parts number is MT-1.

My Mercury 115 horse power is a 1974. Are the 1974 throttle handles the same as the 1982 and later?
