Got to 79.5 mph today with the old 1500. Tried to break 80 pretty hard today, but just didnt get it done. Made 4 or 5 runs over 79, just need to empty some more tricks out of my sleeve.

Your right Bruce, Its getting there. I do wear a helmet and race lifejacket. But I would lie to you if this thing does not scare me just a litte bit :)
And yes on the LI too.

I check every mounting bolt and steering bolt each day I go out and do top end runs. I also dump lower unit oil almost each time out watching for signs of failure inside the case.

Its eerie smooth once it gets up and running. Its even eerier to think how much its gonna hurt if it ever hooks or does something stupid..

Ive had this thing loose bite on the skeg in the low 70's before. feels like your sliding a car sideways on ice. Nearly zero control. It was due to poor set up and I have sense gotten it to hook up.

Shoulda made a few more passes - would have burned up just enough fuel to lighten the load enough to get that last half MPH! ;)

Conrad:
I wonder if you could modify the bottom on your Carlson to
match the full tunnel like the Carlson CT-15. They were running
well into the 80mph range with inlines before the Molinari design
took over.
