TOPIC: 1966 merc 500

1966 merc 500 13 years 2 days ago #46450

Well I took a little road trip last weekend and I pick up a 1966 merc 500 short shaft for my new project. Its a 1969 duo x15 I'm fixing up for my brother. I noticed on the side of the block it say "Full-jeweled super thunderbolt trademarks H" does that mean anything special or do they all say that? The serial number is 1963115 which I believe is a 1966. It has 110 psi on all 4 with spark should be a keeper

I love those older Merc 500's mine are all 1968 to 72 and lack the awsome chrome! Enjoy

Congrats on the find. I have been running a 65 Merc 500 for the past three years and couldn't be more pleased. Awesome chrome indeed.
