Mine isn't so much "beat up" I guess as it is "aged". The lettering is quite worn and unsightly. Especially the red flare in front of the word Mercury. Someone suggested new decals, but it looks to me like the lettering is under some kind of clearcoat. It almost looks like mildew on the letters.

Anyone's advice with refurbishing experience would be appreciated!
