TOPIC: Quickest & easiest way to drain early trim pump

Quickest & easiest way to drain early trim pump 14 years 8 months ago #3849

I need to completely drain my pump (it's the early one) and cylinders, or at least get them as close to empty as possible. I don't see anything in my merc manual about draining the pump, but there is a big hex key stainless plug on the side of the manifold that looks likely. Or do I just remove the vent and fill plug and turn the pump upside down? I'll remove the hoses, drain them, and I know how to drain the cylinders.

Thanks for any suggestions!

disconect the lines and run the pump up and down with them off.

Disconnect at the pump, cylinders, or does it make a difference?

Thanks,
