Nice one ...AGAIN.

I just resurrected the same one a couple of weeks ago I picked up for $75. Only needed a little tinkering, some paint, and an impeller. Couple hours work....purred like a kitten and sold within days for $600.

Looks good Tim. Isn't this hobby just nuts some times?
This one is a co-workers boat that he wanted a tune-up on so he could sell it. I did not even know he had a boat. He had this one for 4 years and last week he asked if I would work on it for him.
When I asked what kind of motor he said "Mercury. I think"!
Well, my palms got sweaty, my heart raced, and my wife called. But not in that order! ;)
We did some wheelin' and dealin', and this little guy is mine now.

Yea it certainly gets in your blood for sure. I love the Merc's and the challenge to wake em up and make em healthy and pretty.

I sure wish I had the room(and financial ability) to keep all the motors I get and sell but for now I have to just console myself in the fact that I am bringing these motors(and lotsa boats btw) out of the scap pile and putting them back into the use that they were designed for.

A hobby, a sideline biz, and most of all an obsession.

So self-satisfying and the best part is how much I continue to learn as I continue. Fun fun fun.

Some day I'll have a big shop and maybe can spend my retirement years doing this on a greater scale.

Good luck with that Merc Neil.

I have this exact same motor. I modded with a 1958 seafury.

I'm looking to replace the gear case on the lower unit. I'm rather new at this so wondering if anyone can help? I haven't been able to find anything online. I've attached a couple photos or the case is cracked. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
