I like having the real hard copy manual in the shop but, as you've probably found, they can be pricy. This is a cheaper, quick alternative:

I have one of these too, and it's a pretty decent scan of the original. The only downside is that since it's just images the text isn't searchable. ...not that the paper one is either.

I bought an e-manual online for my Merc 1150. I downloaded it on to a disk and just print out the sections as I need them and put them in a binder for future use. That way I have the hard copy for what I am working on in the shop and I don't melt down my printer by printing all 600 or so pages, many of which I probably never use. Being an old fart, I like a hard copy within reach so I can go back and re-read it as many times as I need to finish the job. Now, if I could just remember where I left it and why did I come into this room???
