Hi All, I'm talking with a guy about a pair of 1959 58A mercs for my Crosby. One is a long shaft and the other is a short shaft. My transom measures 17". Will either of these motors work for me? Thanks.

The short shaft would fit your boat.

And a short shaft lower unit and mid-housing for the currently long shaft 58A will be much easier to locate that if you needed a second long shaft set-up.
Very cool!
Pictures??

Thanks you guys. No pictures yet because it would be after a rebuild before I can get a hold of either of them but rest assured I'll post pix asap. Again thanks.
