Ran the 1500 with a 26 cleaver today. I opened it up, but not all the way and it hit 69mph easy. I bet it would have hit 72mph if it would have trim it up more and held on

Just too cold to hang it all out.....

Next year, I will move into the 70mph club. :)

Sorry for the crappy video:

Yep Im running on a lake. The river is just to hard to figure out speeds on, unless you do a two way average and that is never perfect either. Next year I will run it on the river a lot, and that makes it interesting when you can pick up 5 mph with the current.

With my current set up I think I will top out at 75, when I do a few more mods to raise the motor 1-2 inches higher.

I am looking for a cheap 1.78 set of gears to keep my RPMS's down and be able to use my best two cleavers a 25 and 26

With the 1.78 gears and the 26 pitch and some motor height work I bet this rig could get close to 80mph, no joke.(my wife weighs 72 lbs less than me I need to get her a helmet)

that set up would run the motor at 6300 RPM, which should be close to the peak HP for a J block Im guessing.

Who knows, Ive just touched the surface with this motor. I have the timing way back and the motor still lower than it needs to be.

Run the timing up some run the motor up and hang on
