TOPIC: Control Swapping ??

Will the controls from a 79 80 HP or a 70 50 HP work fine on a 69 1000 ?? Im thinking about getting the 100 HP but he has no controls for it and I have the Controls for a 50 and a 80 ..I dont want to plug them in and see smoke ...L.O.L...

Are they all the same then if the plugs the same ?? Like one with a Distributer doesnt have a problem running one without ?? No power leads or anything would go to a dirrent post on the plug ?? Just wana be sure .. As you know parts for these if you goof up can get real pricey real fast ...

anything lat 60's and up if it fits you must aquit. yes if they fit they will work.

I have a 65 1000 and a 650...the plug on the 1000 is different than the 650...anyone with an idea why this might be? .....i need to back and get the other control box that was with the motor...

you have the old ignition with points and 2 coils like a car. that is why if you had CD ignition you would be ok 67 and newer i think.
