This might sound like a dumb question... but you guys will answer it faster than I can look it up.

What do I have to do to add a T/T gauge to this motor/TT assembly?

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is not a factory sending unit for this system. You would have to engineer your own using a sending unit from a different application, or via a mechanical cable to operate a dashboard pointer.

Thanks Ferguson,

I really like the convenience of having a gauge where you can find out where the engine runs best, and the boat rides smoothest.
Have you ever seen one of these senders? and is the "arm" what reads the tilt? If so, It looks like a simple fabrication of a bracket- and attaching the "arm" to one of the cylinders..

No, I cannot say I have seen that particular sender. It is somewhat similar to the type Mercury used starting with the 1984 model 75, 90, & 115 however. The clamp and swivel brackets, as well as the power trim system is total different on those motors from yours though.
As I mentioned, one can engineer something to work, but I would think that a correct correlation between outboard position and sender movement may be quite a challenge.

Who doesn't like a challenge?
I DO work on Studebakers ya'know...

I'd like to see one in the flesh and take some measurements.. it would just be a matter of arm "throw" versus finding the correct pivot-point on the cylinder.

Thanks again...

get it to run where you like it then set the tilt limiting switch to that point. all automatic.
