A best buddy of mine has a KG9 on a rack in his basement. He used to race it back in the late 50's and early 60's. Ripped the transom off his shell and he hasn't touched it in over 50 years. Turns over and ran when he put it away. Wondering how much it's worth and if it's worth bringing back to life.
Has the tach and control handle.

Worth? Quite a bit. You say he raced it, but I can't see the lower unit. If it's a stock KG9 with a service lower unit, in running condition, it might be worth $1000 or more, depending on where you are and how badly someone wants one. If it has a Quicksilver racing lower unit, maybe upwards of $2000 with the same caveats. So, it is well worth putting some time, money and effort into getting it going. They're a real powerhouse, too!

That mechanical tach alone is good for about $300.00
