Tried to get some high speed runs on an empty lake today, figured Wednesday on a small, isolated lake would be perfect. It was empty for about 5 minutes  !! Anyway, my second run topped 58mph via GPS, new top speed.

Wanted to hit 60mph, but the lake got a bit choppy with skiers/wakeboarders, as alluded to above. Also had half tank of gas (6 gal) on board, need to see what she'll do on a 1/4th or even 1/8 tank.

The engine is a BEAST!! The video is short, but I recommend turning it up :woohoo:

Curse Thanks, that motor is a work of art and runs like a Swiss watch. It was built by Doc Frankenmerc and gets raves where ever it goes.

Gene I lightened the boat, removing 30 pounds by going to a lighter battery. The battery is mounted up front and reducing weight there means less trim is needed, etc. The WOT rpm is a touch over 5400 at the top speed. I don't "floor" it until I've trimmed the engine out and I'm riding on the pad (about 40-45mph). At that point I do punch it.

Stashm2 Thanks, that "old iron" really turns heads! :)

Hi Pete,

Is that the motor with the 100 Hp powerhead? It sounds GREAT. What is the speed in metric? Is one mile 1.6 or 1.8 kilometers an hour?

Hi Taco,

Yes, it is the 100HP power head built by Doc. A fantastic engine in both looks and performance!!

I believe the conversion for mph to kph is about 1.6. I guess she's running about 93kph or so.

Hi Doc,

The engine is a real scorcher and a head turner. It gets more looks than the boat! I know I've posted quite a few videos, but at least I'm finally learning to turn the camera on the engine and keep the ugly driver out of the frame   !!

I've had people come by the launch ramp at the end of the day and say they heard the engine from across the lake and wanted to find out what it was :woohoo: :woohoo: !!

Best,

Pete

Hi Robby,

What a funny video!! Don't know if that NOS is real, but that little kid is classic! I think I'll have to take my brother's advice: quit spending money and just lose some weight

I was out on Crescent Tuesday, got a chance to drive the boat right by the scenic outlook on 101, give a Kodak moment to the folks!

Pete? NOS real as many "spray the beast", but built motors for it. But in your case? All ya gotta do is drop weight, streamline you and the boat, do it winter with almost frozen water! If ya "want it, its there"! Probably hit 62! "Speedo's, swim cap, and can be done! Rollie Free did that Bonneville! And on a long ago "Vincent"?

Next run if not a record would do it "shoe less". HA! "Damn speed freaks never happy"!

24" small eared chopper at 5400rpm. The third pass in the video below shows what the trim and boat look like at that speed. Just after the third pass, after the camera shut off, she hit 58.6mph before running out of lake.
