Hi,
The carburaters of my 1974 1500 J block are re-built with a quicksilver repair set. As I do not have a manual { only the prior to 1965 } I like to know if someone can advise on the float height/ level settings?
Thanks, Taco.

Here ya go Taco :)

Personally,...I set to the second image that shows the links not touching each other. I have better luck doing it this way in a effort to stop fuel pressure causing flooding out the float chamber vent while pumping up the prime bulb.

Hi Doc,

Thank you very much. The mechanic says your info was very helpfull.

I am very lucky that i finally found a nice person close to my address that is addicted to Mercury motors and did some outstanding restorations.

We agreed that he is going to restore motors for me but only motors that i am going to use. He does the 1974 Merc 1500 first. Will post some pics when the job is done.

Taco.
