Taking my time backing out exhaust plate bolts from my 1350 today. Here is a video showing my technique to getting them out whole.

Great stuff, thanks. Do you ever reuse those bolts after cleaning the threads with a wire wheel?

I would guess heating the bolts in from the sides is a bit harder?

Have you ever tried heating the whole block in an oven first, maybe the the overall temp up since that aluminum really pulls the heat out quick?

I typically re-use the bolts as long as they look good. Most times they clean right up. No I have not tried the oven trick yet. I think is more of a heat/pressure differential that actually draws the penetrant in. Just my quick guess. If the whole block is warm I am not sure if it would work the same?

I was just thinking heating the aluminum would make it expand and hopefully open them all up enough to suck up the penetrant guess I will have to test it but thanks for the video, I'm new to this and don't want to ruin things by just hacking at it.
