Have been pondering something with my Merc control set up...
My boats cables first off look to be like 4' too long.

Also this is something i have noticed too..When on the ears and throttling up seems to very smooth &easy ..but when in the water when I throllte up, seem like very stiff almost like binding when in the water but there is nothing of the such? I'm i crazy?

My other question is when or wheres 'bout should the motor start to run higher RPMs?
From the 12 O clock position (N) to about the 9 oclock (F) until the motor starts to rev up....

Wondering if I need to adjust or perhaps study up a bit more ...

That noon to 9 thing is like a lot of folks set-ups, just the way it works, then as you move towards 8:30 all heck breaks loose. Best way to tell if yer at WOT throttle is with the cover off the front of the motor to see if the carb butterflies are fully open. If they are, yer at WOT.

thanks, I will look at this.

Didn't think about checking the butterfly's at full throttle to make sure they are fully open. Will look @.
