After seeing Bob's(waterwings) beautiful job he did on his Evinrude, I decided I needed to do a little sprucing up on mine. I got a couple OEM BRP polychromatic blue spray cans off Da-bay and some rustoleum white from Lowes to do the hood.Just got done with the blue, will let it cure out for a while before I do the white. I did a couple things different on the trim. I stripped the paint off of the stainless bolts and screws and buffed them and the lift handle too.Hopefully, that will give the motor a little more "bling".

Looks spectacular, especially for a rattle can job, but did you remember to prime with zinc chromate first on any bare aluminum? Paint has an awful time sticking to bare aluminum without etching primer first, especially underwater. A coat of epoxy primer over that is also recommended to seal out the water.

Just curious on what type of prep (to remove any grease, dirt, etc) you did on the motor before painting.

Thanks guys. Honestly, I had forgotten all about this thread oops. I washed it down with engine degreaser a couple times and primed over the bare metal with zinc primer, let it cure out a few days and scuffed it before I painted it. I goofed on the white. I picked up semi gloss instead of gloss at the store and didn't catch it until after I shot it lol,but took 2000 grit and water sanded and used 3M finesse it compound and give it a mirror finish. Did the same on the blue after I saw how good it did on the white. The beauty of this is I can easily touch it up when i need to.

Thanks Greg, I'm satisfied with it. I didn't want to get that involved with it by taking it off the boat and stripping it down to bare metal like I did with the Johnson years ago and get custom matched urethane paint mixed for it. jim
