TOPIC: Help? Need to remove Meteor,s paint

Help? Need to remove Meteor,s paint 11 years 2 months ago #85210

My Meteor has had gold, red and blue coats with two primers. Its flaking so we steam pressured off most of the last coat BUT the others are thick. On others with less paint or just original gel coat we have sanded.
For this one Sanding with 80 will take a couple of man years, I'm told strippers leave residue in the glass, and media blast leaves soda wicked in too.
What has worked well for you guys in thick paint situations? Thanks in advance!! Tony
OPPS, IGNORE pic, this my Checkmate..hit wrong image and can't undo..sorry

Hi Tony,We put a fan to our back so the dust blows away and grind it down to the cloth, using 36 or 80 grit,I like to take them all down so I don't have to worry about cracks coming back when I am done We started my 58 meteor yesterday,, good luck Bill
