OK This is an idea of what the Traveler looked like before i bought it, And then with a coat of wal-mart spray paint, all red and white.

After 19 years, I have carefully taken it apart one screw at a time, read every post that I could read on here,Scanned the AOMC/ebay/CL/Classifieds/U-tubes and any other place that i could gather info about my traveler. Now i have stripped the aluminum hull with i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r602/DLB68/Photo0558_zpsa9f042da.jpg
Made it look like this
i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r602/DLB68/Photo0478_zpsbc96a460.jpg
The fiberglass has been sanded with i believe it was a 240 grit sand paper. and any imperfections will be hit with
i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r602/DLB68/Photo0560_zps8b76bf3a.jpg and then resanded again. God i hope i have this in the right order lol...

Ok I stripped it down to bare aluminum , washed it with vinegar, twice, then washed it with Dawn ! Dried it with a hair dryer and sang a lullaby to it , towel dried it, then let it sit over night to allow the water to seep out of the joints in the keel and rivet lines. Two coats of Self etching primer... Very Nasty smelling stuff .and now i have sprayed the first coat of PPG single stage paint...

K's Here it is ... In the pale florescent lighting ... The Top of the Arkansas Traveler .. 3 Coats of Gel .. Courtesy of Bass Cat Boats.. Midway,Ar. Now that i have showered and then spent the last 5 hours polishing the aluminum fin rings. I am covered in blacks ooze and have to shower again. Only 9 more pieces of trim to polish .Then i have to deal with the motor.I am kind of dreading that. :silly: Oh and I have to cut a new lexan windshield too :(

Got the old "62 merc 500 fired up tonight. Going to kit the carbs and redo the fuel pump for good measure . Anyone have an idea of the cost on resealing the lower unit on this thing ? Lord knows i don't have the experience to do it.
