As the snow starts to fly here in the Detroit area, I thought I would post a picture of my brother's boat project. While it is not typical of what you usually see on FiberGlassics, it is fiberglass, and perhaps some of you will find inspiration for your own projects...
This is a sailboat that he picked up as salvage after Katrina, The rudder was bent, the railing smashed and it was partially submerged requiring a complete rebuild of the diesel engine.
He also built the trailer from scrath using axles salvaged from a wrecked 18 wheeler trailer. The tractor is a used Volvo which he got his CDL in order to drive.
Boat is shown on its way to Florida from its home in southern Missouri. He hopes to bring it up to Lake Michigan next summer.
Keep pluggin' on those project boats - I love seeing the progress!
